A Shattered Siren

Wiling away her winsome days
Playing upon the beach
Boredom struck her with such brute force
the Gods she did beseech

What is that upon the ship
A fisherman was he
She cast her sights upon the man
To watch him die at sea

Cat and mouse was the game
and how she loved to play
Little did she know the cost
roles reversed to her dismay

Her heart cried out as she sang
the song remained the same
His fate was sealed, so she thought
this man who brought her shame

Not able to finish him
she spared his life instead
Sending him adrift at sea
her heart heavy with dread

She sits upon her lonely isle
pondering what might have been
whilst tears stream down her lovely face
avoiding love again

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Ero, in the year 595 AF.
