Fools' Gold

Once a fool and once a beggar,
Saw the gold did not so much glitter
As blind and deceive,
You came to me
And swore your blood was ice water.

I aided you in petrification
Of heart and mind, I was patient
A snarl baring teeth
For the secrets we keep
Are beyond our mortification

A blazing sun set, as monster turned you,
On your once so glorious youth
Learn your place
The blood on your face
Speaks clear of the repressed and woeful truth

Once a fool and once a beggar
Now you know the black heart's answer
Cut away the pain
And sever the vein
And freeze your soul in ice water.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Chronos, in the year 586 AF.
