Jade

Is this how the summer leaves feel
Waiting to turn from green to gold?
Or is it the frustration of a bud
The last on its branch to finally unfold?

I cling to Aeon's opulent robes
Waiting to learn, and to grow.

The knowledge of years eludes me so-
How can a child step up in time
To be strong enough to show and prove
That she can be both deep and wise?

I ask Lord Aeon for mercy and grace
For wisdom to come at a faster pace.

And finally I've learn what maturity means
It takes the sun out of one's eyes
Gives one's voice a somber tone
Lends a darkness to one's sighs.

Lord Aeon, take a gift from this soul,
No matter the consequence or toll,
Naivety exchanged for wisdom to show
Youth has no virtues for me to extol.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Ero, in the year 583 AF.
