Grief is simple- It takes
The love inside and transforms
All our affection into tears
Which fall like rain, our hearts' storm.

Grief pulls me towards the past
Where memories still live on
And time has not worn away
The stone which we sat upon

As words and smiles brought us close
Our laughter tumbled together, like fresh snow.

Grief is complex, its layers
Cover our hearts like spidersilk
It never truly passes but leaves
Its raindrops inside us still.
