Cartwheels

Sometimes we remember back
(Remember when we were children)
Running along the shoreline to drums in our minds.
We had no rhythm or melody
(Singing with our cacophonous voices)
Shrieked with laughter amidst the ocean spray.
That is why I feel such yearning
(Tickling my breath, my mind, my skin)
To turn cartwheels around you on the sandy shore
Make me a promise that one day we'll sail
(Let's sail far into the blue forever)
And then dive into the waters
Take my hand so we can spin around in circles
(The world revolves around our laughter)
And then fall down into snowbanks
So, whisper to me as if you were telling a secret-
(Or just sing me a lullaby without music)
"We can be happy."
Penned by my hand on the 17th of Daedalan, in the year 581 AF.
