Life's Race

Life's Race

That which I fear
That what I loathe
Never harms me
Eternity is mine to slay them both.

Ah, But life,

A race that which is lost by many,

Calculating every choice offered,
Satisfied to take someone elses road,
Afraid to blaze their own.

At night, I gaze up
Only seeing stars
Never realizing that each star is a dream,
Perhaps even life itself.

For following the stars you can reach your dreams,
But remember this,

Jump in the puddles
Wallow in the mud,
And daydream in the daisies.

For the winner of the race of life is not those who finish first

But those who finish

Wet

Muddy

And late.
