Breaking Hearts

When you crush a heart,
Tear it apart,
And discard it like rotted meat,
Do you think it is nice
Like sugar and spice
To be so damn bitter sweet?

Silly child a broken heart
Once destroyed can never again beat with bliss.
Instead bruised and abused
It thuds infused with a hollowed emptiness.

So I suggest you take care
Of the despair that you share,
Because one day it will be your turn
To suffer rejection and loss
and to reap the cost
Of all that you have spurn.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Phaestian, in the year 244 AF.
