Intent on using the mysterious qlippah, those faithful followers of
Twilight continued conducting rituals to raise these arcane entities
against Blu, the baby dragon. Manipulating the qlippah proved a
difficult matter indeed, as the dark ritualists lost control several
times and found these angry spirits turn upon their summoners.
Undaunted, however, they continued their assault upon Cyrene's dragon,
but not without the citizens of Cyrene putting up a fierce fight.

For a time, the efforts of Viperda, Andreous, Calhoun, Kitt and Kahless
thwarted the efforts of the darkwalkers. But the darkwalkers, notably
Obzidian, Grellek, Silverstorm and Askiva, were undeterred and
eventually succeeded in using the qlippah to defeat Blu, who faded away
to another realm. All that was left of Blu was half of an amulet, which
was immediately taken to Twilight who proclaimed it to be half of the
artifact needed to heal the Darkenwood. The Dark Lord used the amulet
and put the Darkenwood in "stasis" so that the undead plague would not
grow any longer. Even so, the Darkenwood remains on the brink of
destruction and only time will tell of its fate.
