Arraying a God

A challenger, a Demigod, Haskor the Self-Made!

These words will define a being that dared to contend for the mantle of Divinity, forever immortalising his trials and his triumphs in an Eternal Song.

With his five trials complete, Haskor knew he needed the regalia of a God when he climbed the steps of the Shrine of Ascension and claimed his due by right of victory.

It was this charge that he laid upon the city of Cyrene; the honour and the responsibility of bringing forth the sacred objects of a new God would fall upon their shoulders. He rode away with a laugh upon his lips, sure of the glory of his coming celebration.

The Muse Ferenthal descended from her Lord's Temple amid the snowy peaks of Caer Witrin to the city in the valley to bring guidance and material, for the creation of a Divine standard, a Divine weapon, and most daunting of all an Eternal Song is no mere act of artisanry.

First, the Discurean Outriders led the city in deciphering the glimpses of heroic places the Muse saw in her reveries. Raising a silver banner high in each of these places, they watched as gold thread forever recorded those moments of sacrifice and courage. Locale after locale followed, until the surface of the standard gleamed with a myriad of stories, all crowned by Haskor's five recent trials.

Haskor the Self-Made, his triumph resonates; Haskor the Self-Made, beyond the Garden's gates.

Next, the Vashnarian Shield led the city to the caverns of Nuskuwe, where the Muse opened the ground to expose the heat of the world. Using that as a crucible, Cyrenians took it in turns to wield spellforged hammers at an anvil designed for the forging of a God's weapon. For days they toiled in the caves, until they emerged, victorious, with a warhammer befitting a legend in Ferenthal's slender hands.

Haskor the Self-Made, his triumph resonates; Haskor the Self-Made, beyond the Garden's gates.

Finally, the Muse joined the Virtuosi in the city's orchard for the crafting of the Song. This most daunting of tasks took days as Cyrenians of all stripes contributed to its writing. At long last, the Muse wove the lyrics with the melodies of many peoples. Augmented by the strength of the souls of the Virtuosi, the music coalesced into an offering fit for the Great Bard: an offering He accepted, adding the very being of Haskor to the Place of Eternal song.

Haskor the Self-Made, his triumph resonates; Haskor the Self-Made, beyond the Garden's gates.

The time of Ascension is upon all. The stage is set, the demigod arrayed as befits one who seeks Godhood. All that remains is to climb those ancient steps and claim what is rightfully his.
