A Halfling's Sojourn

Sorry, Mama!

I ran out of space for my last letter. I got through most of the events of the fair, though, except for a couple of things.

For one, Nissa told lots of other stories throughout. She talked about a man called Caerid, who betrayed his people. She told us a story about three witches who were envious of each other, and another about a serial killer called Peler Oniar. The last story was about Death's Heart, where Lord Deucalion sacrificed Himself to save everyone.

I also got to play Sojourn, which is some kind of Tsol'teth game where you try to get your little group to Seleucar! I won on my first try, it was pretty easy.

I also got my fortune told by that Asmodron man with Tarot cards. He pulled out a Death card, but he said it didn't necessarily represent death. LIAR.

Then there was the final event of the fair, which was a speech given by a nice man I met called Mathonwy Corso. He spent a lot of the fair teaching me about things. Unfortunately, this is when a Mhaldorian decided to choke me with his whip, and the next thing I remember is waking up outside a cave in a forest.

I was lucky enough that a traveling merchant found me and took me back to the fair, so I could catch the second half of the show!

Mathonwy spoke for Ashtan, and he told the story of his city, and how Glaaki (he seems cool!) defeated Golgotha. He concluded by telling us all that Ashtan embodies potential, and the fair with all its nations coming together did, too. If only we could unite like this more often, he said, who knows what mortals could accomplish?

Unfortunately, Bataoac, a giant walking mountain, then trampled on the fair. I narrowly escaped after Nissa told us there was nothing to worry about, but the tents and everyone left got squashed!

It's okay, though, I learned so much during this that I never would have in our village. Skye B. Anchors taught me about Lord Neraeos and how cool He is. He fights seamonsters! Then she taught me how to perform a libation for Him, which earned me His favour. After all that's happened, I feel that I've grown a lot, so I've decided that I'll try and apply to Lord Neraeos's order when I get back.

With love, your son.
