Standing before the towering typhoon of Asahana, the Great Ocean's Emissary, Maklak demanded an immediate audience with the mighty Sllshya, the Elemental Lord of Water. Enduring no such prattling from an landling already prone to failure, the implacable diplomat would have not a bar of it, and bid the mad wizard to seethe where he stood.
In a blistering tantrum of arcane fury, the mad wizard brought down his full wrath upon the embassy and its guardsmen. A flurry of incantations and razorice sang the demise of dozens of elementals, the deaths shuddering through the World Tree's boughs to resound among the Prime.
Unharmed from the full weight of Maklak's madness, the aqueous Emissary gazed on, utterly unimpressed.
"You wish to see the Fluid One so badly? Very well.", it intoned.
With a simple stare, the elemental bent Maklak's blood to its will, forcing him to the ground. Frozen spittle flew from his mouth as he screamed and wailed, unable to resist the tides within his veins. Screeching all the while, Asahana opened a rift to the Elemental Plane of Water, and dragged the howling wizard through.
Upon the Prime, the conduits stirred. Spurned by the palpable deaths of their kin before the mad wizard's onslaught, the titanic elementals churned, burned, bristled, and seethed with newly awakened rage. Echoes of endless battle resounded within their minds, and in a shared cry of absolute hatred, the Dardanic Grasslands erupted in the throes of elemental war.
Nervously approaching the enigmatic Emissaries, some intrepid adventurers of Sapience learned of the method behind the madness - the shattered elemental cores which attune the conduits to the Elemental Lords, and how the Vigil's ritual sundered them completely, lending them to the bloodthirst that now consumes the Dardanic.
In retrieving the cores of slain elementals upon the fields of battle, the Emissaries claimed to be capable of repairing these connections, granting the only hope for peace that Sapience now has.
Borne upon the Vigil's memory, suspicion runs rife among the peoples of Achaea, for what plans could these enigmatic elementals possibly have for the rest of the world?

Summary:
Losing his temper in the Elemental Embassy, Maklak laid waste to dozens of elemental guardsmen, prompting the intervention of Asahana, the Emissary of Sllshya. Bending his blood to its will, the Emissary consigned the ice wizard to the depths of the Water Plane.
The deaths of the elementals spurned the watching conduits, pushing them to full-scale war among the Dardanic Grasslands. The Emissaries claimed to be able to quell the conduits by means of retrieving elemental cores from the soldiers brought to Achaea, but suspicions abound about their true motives...
