Of Jeramun, the Conduit

Nissa, the Head Archivist of the Lucretian Athenaeum in New Thera, shuffled her various notes into order. Swiftly cutting a fresh quill for the task, she set to applying neat script to a fresh scroll.

From far and wide did people gather, all with questions, suggestions, and tidbits to share with the group. The back and forth was inevitable, but by the end a few things were understood. Sometime close to the birth of the world, the Aldar Dekalb summoned forth four elementals to aid in its creation. From my previous research, we knew already of Jeramun, the Flame of the World. (Reference document: The Flame of the World.)

In months prior to Jeramun's awakening those attuned to the realm of death bore witness to strange slaughters, featuring figures and legions previously unheard of. Until the magi, priests, and sylvans of the land began to experience interruptions in their elemental channels, it was unknown from whence these expirations originated, but these interruptions point clearly to a conflict of elemental origin.

History has told us that the elements stem from four beings, the Elemental Lords: Garash of Earth, Kkractle of Fire, Sllshya of Water, and Whiirh, the Western Wind. In His life, Agatheis claimed dominance over these beings, controlling and maintaining the balance of the elements throughout all Creation. But as He has perished and none hold sway, it is likely that a fight for dominance over the elemental planes now wages between these immense powers.

As we bore witness to numerous losses by what we assume are those loyal to Kkractle, deep in his encasement of armour, Jeramun stirred. The world mustered in various forms, some taking the sparks claimed from the Flame of the World to the notable magi of the lands. The Conclave leader, Yudhishthira was most interested to experiment with such nascent destructive power.

Whether the draconic mage awoke the slumbering conduit (as we know him now to be) or whether the far off clash between the armies of Mhaldor and Targossas roused him to ire, we do not know. But as Jeramun broke free from his armour and the land exploded in fire and rubble, it was evident that the Flame of the World was very much awoken.

Since that day Jeramun has walked the land, unbound and awakened. If he searches for something we do not know, but his motions do not suggest, as yet, a destination. Some say he looks for lava, others say he follows bloodshed, others still believe he searches for a way to join the fight of his Lord, Kkractle.

Since the awakening of the fire conduit, a group calling themselves the Vigil have spoken up, insisting that balance be required to maintain the sanctity of our world. I shall expand upon these in another document.

The Athenaeum's archivist blew a fine sand across the document before rolling it neatly closed and tying with a red ribbon.

Summary:
The Elemental planes are at war without Agatheis to stand upon the egos of the Elemental Lords. Signs of conflict have been appearing on deathsight, Jeramun, the Flame of the World broke free of his armour and now walks Achaea. Nissa, the Head Archivist of the Lucretian Athenaeum gathered people together to discuss what had happened and what everyone had learned to try and formulate some sense of understanding.
