After months of fighting back the terrors that dwelt within the spreading darkness, the natives of Sapience once more noticed Gattan'bahar abroad. Upon the orders of her Underrealm brethren, the Secret Storm drew forth from the earth a glassy stone, a shrine to the meld.
Much like the foe seemed, the obelisk celebrating persistence and pure mortal effort stood alone, indomitable and unaffected amidst the swirling Tide.
A few short days of confusion later, those fighting monsters and those fighting one another for claim over the sporadic Splinters of Deus reeled and watched as analogues to the Pash shrine appeared across the realm. The structures seemed to require naught more than dominion of the Tide in order to take hold, and, once in place, naught appeared to adversely affect the ominous monoliths.
But one aspect did change.
Those who had fought within the Tide before were familiar with the temporary severance and loss of their silent counterpart, and all expected to be reunited upon stepping back into the light. No more did these grey twins return. Many shades claimed by the Tide were now being kept by the dedicant to the Tsol'teth meld, building a writhing defence of odd blackness about the standing stones.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Summary: Tsol'teth shrines to their meld have been appearing within locations overtaken by the Tide. Shadows claimed by the Tide in these locations are not always returned. Some Achaeans wander now devoid of their shadows, even when in the light.
Penned by My hand on the 17th of Chronos, in the year 725 AF.
