Gleaming darkly even in the bright noon sun, the atavian foreman Heimdight felt a twist in his stomach as he reached for the unearthed amulet lying in the dirt. Must be hunger, he mused as he ran his finger over the jewellery. Putting it in his pocket, he boomed at his construction crew to work faster; they were nearly finished expanding the Manor and the Harbingers of Redemption would want back into their altar room. When he collapsed a few days later, it was Niusha and Terice who found him unconscious and dying, his crew having been frightened away by the malicious energy emanating from the amulet clutched in his hand.
Only a short time before had Terice arrived with a flourish. As Niusha rushed to embrace her sister, she explained to the curious crowd that she'd written to Terice as soon as she'd heard of the new hospice being added to the estate in hopes that her abilities would be put to good use. An insightful push on Heimdight's part with his crew had the House touring their new wing shortly thereafter, including the hospice, and looking forward to the final expansion.
Unfortunately, it would come with a price. As the Harbingers began laying healing rites and Aodfionn, the Herald of Redemption, began to pray over Heimdight's prone form, an audible refusal arose from the strange amulet to release its victim. Prompted by their High Cleric, Vithincus found both the unfinished Altar of Mercy and the golden scimitar needed to activate it. Grasping it by the hilt, Aodfionn thrust the golden scimitar into the Altar of Mercy, awakening a towering inferno that engulfed him and pushed all back with its torrid flame. As it calmed to a dancing fire, the Herald of Redemption placed his hand upon the altar and the room filled with a swirling, aureate light, lifting the curse and leaving the atavian man to rise weakly to his feet, shaken by his ordeal.
Now bound to both the cleansed amulet and the Altar itself, Heimdight takes his place among the faithful Harbingers of Redemption.
Summary: Following a series of expansions to their estate, the Harbingers of Redemption welcome two new converts to their Manor.
