Departure of the Enlightened

Foul chants rose from the bog south of Ashtan, where the priests of
Babel gathered in the darkness before dawn. The details of their foul
rituals are unknown, but as the sun rose above Sapience, all saw the
form of a Kx'Khrah rise from therein, emanating a tainted, Chaotic light
as he entered a planar rift into the Crystal Plane, twisting the
crystalline formations in his passing.
Moments later, the skies above Shallam ignited with incandescent fury as
Lorielan, the Enlightened appeared, wreathed in jade flames. Attended by
the Aldar Han-Silnar, the goddess vanished through the rift in pursuit
of her corrupted charge, withdrawing from the Prime Material Plane to
repel the Chaotic incursion upon her domain.
Lorielan's followers mourn her departure, but seldom do such partings
last forever. As the rift closed and faded, some say that the Lord of
Oblivion was heard to muse, as though to himself: "We shall meet again,
Sister, ere the end."
