The Y5C Ship Race and mystery destination

Following a couple practice rounds on brief courses, both won by Zulah
and his ship 'The Krait', the Year 500 Shiprace began! Seastriders and
Windcutters alike sped through the starting point near the island of
Shala-Khulia, curving around the southwestern edge of Sapience and
through a series of short legs through the chops south of that
continent. Zulah and his passenger Balynne were first to the halfway
point, a rocky outcropping at the southernmost known navigable border of
the chops, where he found instructions to the final mystery destination,
as promised. The ship 'The Storm Dancer', captained by Inuad Stormsong,
chased close behind in the wake of 'The Krait'.
Finding the formerly impenetrable chops to the south now becalmed and a
navigable route through them, Zulah deftly commanded his Windcutter
across the turbulent ocean, the sleek bow of his ship scything through
foreign waters. Circling around a few small islands without discernible
harbours, he finally sighted an enormous landmass to the south, with
mountain peaks rising high into the firmament. Approaching the
coastline, 'The Krait' were able to locate a natural harbour and dock.
Disembarking, Zulah and Balynne were greeted by Maya, the Great Mother
Herself, who welcomed them as the first two Sapients to step foot upon
Meropis, the lost sister continent of Sapience, since the mighty
splitting of the two continents in a time lost to modern memory.
Let it be noted here for posterity that the ship 'The Storm Dancer',
captained by Inuad Stormsong with his crewmate Madelyne, was second to
reach the continent of Meropis. The ship 'The Wake of the Kalaratri',
captained by Imyrr Rousseau, was the third.
Penned by My hand on the 8th of Phaestian, in the year 500 AF.
