Heavy clouds rolled over the northeastern skies of Sapience in midwinter
of 463 AF, flashing with lightning and stirring the seas in a tumultuous
storm. Seeking adventure, a few brave captains led their crews through
the waves, braving the turbulent waters of the Borean Ocean, which was
barely navigable in the wake of the storm.

Loscann Ze'Dekiah, captain of the Luminescent Moon, dropped anchor at
the first of a series of frigid islands, a land of giants known as
Ilyrean Isle. As the winter pressed on, Inuad Stormsong Cholla'Yi,
captain of the Icedancer, discovered the harbour of Suliel Island, the
second inhabited isle of the chain.
