Over 250 years ago, the occultist Servelan de Vermiis conducted an
experiment to summon the Unnameable Horror, a being of pure chaos and
the catalyst for humanity's beginnings. Drawing on powers from beyond
creation, she merged with the being, transforming into Eris, Goddess of
Chaos.

Since that time, many adventurers have attempted to duplicate the
experiment, most failing miserably. A select few have come close,
bringing into creation not the dreaded Unnameable Horror, but a
powerful, amorphous creature of superior might.

For more than a century, the ritual remained incomplete, the creature
unseen and nearly forgotten by mortalkind. On the 17th of Ero, 455 AF,
the feat was again accomplished as the notorious Mhaldorian Naga,
Tenebrus Ninefingers, with his House's help and the secretive assistance
of the Ashtani Trance Yusef, invoked the powers of Chaos and raised the
Spawn of the Unnameable Horror.

Feeding on the lives of willing Mhaldorians who sought to watch it grow,
the Spawn consumed all it encountered in its confinement. At last, with
the combined efforts of hunters from all cities, the creature was
subdued, with the young Eleusian, Nayuu Leafrost, landing the killing
blow.
