Red-faced and puffing hard, Tharos, the Announcer of Delos slowly made
his way from his place within the Garden to the gilded domes of Shallam.
Armed with only a message in mind, he was soon intercepted by Blayke,
and quickly informed him of what he had learned. "The Gods," he said
breathlessly, "I overheard them talking. A power in the imagination
itself."
Tharos tried his own imagination out on some vials kindly donated by
Blayke, with limited success. His excitement rose as he imagined the
possibilities! Soon he was off to the Crystal Leaf Inn to see if he
might engage the aid of others in this new potential.
Saadya and others met Tharos there, at the Inn. It did not take the
intrepid adventurers long to discern the possibilities behind what
Tharos was speaking about, and those with the most fertile imaginations
were soon blessed with gifts from the Garden on high. But not all were
gifted with their desires, and as all endowments Divine, the cost
exacted for each attempt soon became apparent as specially marked vials
began disappearing from the pockets, pouches, and backpacks of the
Achaean dreamers who had imagined them as something else.
And yet, those who remained faithful continued to have great imaginings,
and for these select few, their dreams became a reality. Showers of gold
were first seen raining down upon the fortunate Largo; the gift of
increased learning ability was first gained by Blayke; and the ultimate
currency, credits, were gifted first to Malla. These three would soon
enough prove to have been only the beginning of a rising flood of
imaginers!
Meanwhile in a small, simple hut just off the Old road passing
Cottonwood Canyon, another discovery was made. "A gift from the Gods!"
Seasone exclaimed, while filling a vial for her newest customer. "Surely
this can't be right!" Looking within the container, she was soon to
realise that in fact she was correct - the vial was only filled
part-way! What a discovery! Those who had overheard her cries of
surprise while passing by soon gathered, and Seasone found herself
joined by Ixtaro, Eliander, Saadya, and Tas. It was with them she would
first share her new findings.
Revealing to them the secrets of the new, improved vials proved only a
matter of demonstration. Producing several vials from her back, along
with a single empty one, the adventurers watched as one after another
vial was poured into the single empty one. "Nearly four times the
capacity of the original!" She exclaimed with delight. "And look, one
can be poured into another. How marvellous!" Putting the vials away,
Seasone could barely contain herself. She would soon be called upon to
exhibit the new vial characteristics again for still more curious,
intrepid adventurers desirous to see what all the commotion was about.
Word travelled quickly, and soon all were acquainted with the new,
improved vials available throughout the realms, a gift from Tharos and
the Garden to all mortalkind.
Penned by my hand on the 12th of Scarlatan, in the year 454 AF.
