The sound of shattering glass carried upon the air to those within the
Northern Wilderness, capturing their attention. Soon thereafter,
numerous reports of massive fires raging throughout the forests in that
region began to come in.
The fires spread across the lands, seeming to rekindle themselves time
and time again after repeated dousings by the ever-diligent forestal
community. Suspicions of these occurences having a paranormal nature
began to arise. Confirming these suspicions, an enormous firefly was
eventually discovered, alighting each and every branch and leaf it
touched. A notable group of forestals and other friends of the woodlands
attempted to catch the bizarre insect, to no avail. Following clues as
to the firefly's origin, a large group, including among others Delphinus
Windancer, Ravien Windsong-Rurrowind, Iocun, and the dragon Paine
Saer'rac, to go forth towards the Great Rock to question Arinas, the
well-known insect aficionado.
After sharing with Arinas the details of the recent situation, the
Entomologist was quick to confess that the rare and magical firefly now
ravaging the forests of Sapience did indeed belong to him, having
escaped accidentally when the large jar it was in broke upon the stone
floor. Thinking fast, Delphinus spoke with Holly, the Theran
glassblower, who was willing to assist by creating a large,
heat-resistant jar within which the firefly could be contained.
Scrounging together the needed materials and providing a constant supply
of wood for Holly's fire, Delphinus Windancer, Eurulis Lighthawk ,
Ravien Windsong-Rurrowind, Entaro Windsong-Rurrowind, Johlo R,
Alchalaris Oloren, and Eurulis Lighthawk assisted in crafting a large
jar for the firefly.
Receiving the finished jar from Holly, Iocun, followed by many others,
left for the forests to hunt down the creature and return it to Arinas'
safekeeping. The fires igniting the forests of Sapience were rapidly put
out and ceased any longer to rekindle, while within the Rock, the
firefly resides in Arinas' care, for the Entomologist to safekeep and
study for the betterment of all.
