Months after the events in Thera, a wanderer in the devastation
of that former village noticed what must have been seen by many
before - the rotting corpse of one of the four Vertani magelords
who had also been part of the attack and who had died there.

This wanderer, Mystic Harmonia, Shaman Apprentice, contacted the
Vertani to alert them to the corpse's presence. She also performed
some ritual on behalf of the dead.

A small honour guard came from the nearby base and gathered the
corpse to give it whatever treatment the Vertani accord their
dead.

As the honour guard prepared to leave with the body, Delphinus
Windancer, the Gatecrasher, Mage of Malice, Airtreia Lichlord-Van
Helsing, and a contingent of Theran soldiers arrived. The Theran
soldiers immediately attacked the honour guard.

The tiny Vertani contingent carried out their mission, moving into
the fortress near that location.

Delphinus, Airtreia, and their associated Theran soldiers searched
the area after they noticed the Vertani's departure. At one point
Airtreia exclaimed, "Where did those ****s go?"

This episode has created questions and given few answers.

Why were Delphinus and Airtreia so anxious to find the Vertani?
Does this portend an increase in tensions? A new hesitance on behalf
of the Vertani? Or something else entirely? Only time will tell.
