Vampire Lord Zsarachnor's strange behaviour of recent days has proven a
mixed blessing to the realm of Sapience bringing with it unprecedented
suffering,fantastic opportunity, and dread of what may come next.

The Vampire Lord's taunts were answered by parties of brave adventurers.
Their victory over Zsarachnor was accompanied by yet another sort of
success - discovery of a previously hidden Temple and a strange root
within.

"I saw a massive grey root, snaking from floor to ceiling, in this
Temple of Unlife," said one observer, "Several people were standing
around wondering what to do, and the next thing I know, Samadhi
disappears. I got out of there fast!"

Intrepid explorer Samadhi proved to be the first of many who passed
through that Temple and found themselves transported to a completely new
plane of existence via means unknown. Another eyewitness reports, "It is
a very dangerous place! We call it 'The Underworld.' Everything is dead,
or undead, and everything wants our blood!"

How right our witness was! Over six score deaths have occurred in that
realm in the few days since its discovery. The foul undead denizens of
the Underworld have butchered our brave-hearted warriors from across
Sapience, though not a few of them have perished as well.

What will become of this new plane? Who are its inhabitants, and why are
they there? Who and what are these Death Knights and who is their
master, if anyone? Do the names Zigana, Dominar, and Pryla'ket figure in
the future of our lands? No doubt time will tell.
