I am pleased to announce the works that have been selected this month
from among the many entries submitted to the Fellowship.
For the Bardic Contest:
-First Place-
"The Life and Death of Archeon Aurecius," in which Nubi takes his
rightful place among the bards of the Fellowship with an engaging story
of his struggle to understand his estranged brother.
-Runners Up-
"When I Grow Up," a song of the classes of Achaea, cleverly written by
Alinoe.
"The Harvest Law Song," a delightful teaching tune for young druids and
sentinels, by Rhakshai.
"Bedtime Story," a sweet set of verses about the creation of the races,
as might be told to a young child, penned by Mercedes.
"The Window of Souls - Conclusion," the final book in Vorleth's
Seleucarian epic.
-Merit Awards-
"Legend of the Xoran Exodus," by Draki, is the author's own idea of how
the Xoran race came to reside on Sapience.
"The Experiences of a Mujoshai," by Katoreos, brings to life the early
days of the young monk guild, filled with trials and determination.
"Echoes of a Note Long Faded," by Kerian, is a narrative of the author's
coming of age in the underworld of Ashtan.
"Central Market," wherein the atmosphere of the Ashtan marketplace is
vividly described in poetic style by Kandor.
"The Founding of Genji," in which Greywolf hopes to have discovered why
the village came to be, and what led these Atavians to forsake Vastar
for Agatheis.
-First Place-
"Heart of the Founder," a clever portrait by Lyric, depicting the
illustrious founder of the Loving Hearts Orphanage, Servelan de Vermiis.
-Runners Up-
"Tekura," by Tenchu, is a detailed manual of tekura moves.
"Reincarnation," by Serentus, is a departure from the artist's usual
style, depicting his race change.
"Troupe of Jesters," by Emty, is a colorful depiction of a group of
jesters of different races, along with many of their tools of the trade.
"No Apologies," by Audeo, is an enchanting self-portrait.
-Merit Awards-
"Self Portrait," by Aelothir, is an illustration of him in his forest
habitat.
"Orphaning," by Apathy, is an amusing diagram for any who are curious
about this Ashtan pastime.
"The Red Fog," by Darkfenix, is ironically in black and white, but
nonetheless portrays his vision of the menace.
"Mourning the Citadel," by Draki, is a portrait of an infernal engaged
in somber reflection.
"Sartan's Island," by Elsp, is an unusual map of the island where Sartan
was imprisoned.
"Enchantments for Everyone," by Ilan, is a cute advertisement.
"Darragon," by Kyra, portrays the first sentinel atavian (according to
Kyra's research.)
"Demons," by Fulmin, is a self portrait.
Penned by my hand on the 17th of Miraman, in the year 303 AF.
