The Fellowship of Scarlatti has chosen to honor the following
outstanding works this month from among the many entries.
For the Bardic Contest:
-First Place-
> The Window of Souls, the story of a troubled time in the history of
the Selucarian Empire, recounted skillfully by Vorleth.
-Runners Up-
> Deep in the Vashnar Mountains Tall, the epic ballad surrounding a
great dragon of days now passed, by Relisys.
> The Nameless, Miraculix's surreal autobiography, told in a unique and
absorbing style.
-Merit Awards-
> Last Ink, Dessa's tale of the final spiritual masterpiece of a tattoo
artist.
> Zero, Seven, Part One, autobiographical episodes from Zero's young
life (mathematics of the title aside).
> The Champion of Darkness, a poem narrating a classic battle between
light and darkness, by Vexlore.
> Erisian Logic, Saruman's occult investigation of the nature of truth
and logic in a chaotic world.
For the Artisanal Contest:
-First Place-
> World Map, Elsp's artistic rendering of the known world to the best of
her understanding. (note that some understandable geographical
inaccuracies are overlooked due to the work's artistic quality)
-Runners Up-
> Suicide Mouse, Timothy's illustration of a suicide mouse's first (and
last) day on the job.
> Gaia's Temple, depicting the statue at the entrance and the unicorn
that once contained the Divine soul of Agatheis, by Septerra.
> Herbs, a pictorial guide to the herbs of Achaea, based on Blackvixen's
studies.
> Magi of the Storm, Ravana's proud illustration of her diverse guild.
-Merit Awards-
> Dawnstriders, the emblem of the guild as designed by Serentus.
> Descending the Treetops, Emisa's rendering of a young druid woman in
the sylvan canopy.
> Imps, an excerpt from the Encyclopedia Achaea, illustrated by Ilan.
A NOTE TO ARTISTS: The Fellowship requests that layout maps like
Perseon's not be submitted any longer, due to their direct similarities
to his winning original.
All of the winning works will be posted shortly at
http://www.achaea.com/history/bardic/index.html
Penned by my hand on the 5th of Scarlatan, in the year 286 AF.
