A2K1

When we first announced A2K1, we held a referendum to see how many people would be willing to pay $500 for A2K1 (minus airfare and restaurant costs). About 50 people said they would. We didn't actually want that many people, so we were excited that we actually had more interest than we could accomodate. Unfortunately, so far, we only have 11 deposits for A2K1. This will not do.

Raajin and I had a long conversation tonight, and decided to lower the price for A2K1. We are able to do this by lowering the quality of the housing that we'll get. We were going to get a pretty nice place on the beach with its own pool, volleyball court, etc. Our new place will be about like last year's, which was certainly fine, but nothing special. Still, it's the people that make the meet, and we all had a blast last year.

So, what we've decided to do is require a deposit of $150 (instead of $250) by March 6th (instead of February 6th), and then require that the balance of $250 (instead of $300) be due by May 25th (instead of May 15th).

If this change is going to cause you to want to attend A2K1, please e-mail Sarapis about it at sarapis@achaea.com immediately. We need to get an idea of how many people we're going to have in order to book housing. We feel that we need at least 16 people to make the meet worthwhile. If we don't get that many, obviously we'll be refunding everybody's deposits in full.

See HELP A2K1 for info about A2K1.

The following people have their deposits in for A2K1:

Sarapis Aeyr Armelia
Twilight Raajin Malaclypse
Saruman Piadda Morlana
Tranquility Isildur

We need at least 5 more people to sign up, or we will have to cancel A2K1, which would be a shame. So, remember, you now have until March 6th, to pay a $150 deposit, and commit to paying another $250 by May 25th. We hope that reducing the price like this and extending the deadline for paying the deposit will allow more people to go; which is, after all, the point of it all!
