Looking Ahead to the Future

Hi folks,

I wasn't expecting to be writing this post today and as you can all imagine this isn't an easy one for me. I have worked with Nicola for eight years and in that time developed a rapport and working relationship that is hard to match. She'll be missed.

For those of you who don't already know me, I've worked for Iron Realms since 2017, first as Achaea's Head Builder, then Associate Producer, before spending two years as Aetolia's lead producer. Many of you will be familiar with my work and I hope that I've left a good impression over the years and that I'll continue to do so as I get going. It's no secret that the relationship between the admin team and the playerbase is in need of some mending, and I hope that you'll find me approachable and reasonable as I begin to work on restoring faith and good will in this area.

It's my job now to look toward the future, and in that regard I'm very optimistic. We have already begun putting together some immediate plans of action and a roadmap for what the next few days, weeks, and months will look like. Primarily my focus at first is going to be on quality of life updates and modernising the game. Achaea lags behind severely in this area compared to the other IRE games and it's something I'm keen to tackle in order to make the game as accessible and enjoyable as possible from a systems and convenience front. Expect more on this very soon.

Alongside mechanical improvements will be a continued focus on the game's rp, events, and narrative advancement. We already have several existing events in progress: these will continue hopefully without too much interruption, and our plans here (including some new rp tools, content, and opportunities for immersion and storytelling) will be of the highest priority.

I hope to have more specifics to announce here shortly, but for now I want to home in on some key essentials:

- Anything you would have messaged or emailed Nicola for directly, you can now send to me either in a message or to ictinus@achaea.com.

- The Tea Time on UPCOMING will go ahead as planned. Everyone is welcome to attend and I'll be able to talk about some of our plans and answer questions for a while. These will also be a more regular occurence.

That's all from me for now. I'm eager to begin figuring out a new era for Achaea, and you can expect to hear from me a lot more.
