Bugs everywhere!

Hey all,

Looking back at this year our handling of bugs hasn't been as good as we'd have ideally liked. We're going to try to do this more proactively going forward and keep this number at a consistently low value. We'll be working on some changes to how we handle them internally (should be entirely invisible to you guys) and may implement a different system for how they're submitted (still hashing out specifics here). First though, we want to try to clear out the current backlog.

One unfortunate thing we have a tendency to do is fix a bug then not delete the reports. As a result of this we have a lot of dead reports floating in the system, which slows down the fixing of legitimate bugs considerably. I'll be clearing these out today - there is a chance as a result I hit some ancient genuine bugs lost in limbo, but I think the productivity gain will be worth it overall.

This post is mostly so if you see some of your bugs vanish you know why, and so you know if you do see something reemerge that you had a report in for that got removed to resubmit it.

Thank you for your understanding!
