Serious accusations.

Hey everyone,
A bit less pleasant of a thing today. It's come to our attention recently that some pretty serious accusations have been made about a member of the admin team. We take accusations of this nature extremely seriously and thoroughly investigate them, and when they're as serious as the ones put forth we don't leave any stones unturned. We've reviewed game logs going back to around 2010 (uncomfortable for all parties concerned, I assure you), and can safely say the accusations were proved untrue.
Normally this wouldn't really be worth a post - these things come up occasionally and we have to do internal reviews to establish the facts: something we're very well equipped to do. It's safe to say if something happened in Achaea, we can find out specifics very easily. This particular situation was notable for a few reasons:
- Volume. We had to go back a long way and through a lot of information concerning multiple parties.
- The accusation made is doubly serious, because it implied that very serious policy violations would be ignored if true.
- The accusation turned out to not only be untrue, but based in a very misrepresented situation.
This kind of thing has never happened with our current admin team before, so I felt it best to make a couple of things clear:
If you have an issue with a member of the admin team, that's your business. If you think they're bad at their job, that's your business. If you start accusing them of things that we can categorically go back through logs and establish you have either knowingly misrepresented or outright lied about, and those things are framed in such a way to dissuade people from reporting legitimate and serious policy violations because they'll just be ignored: that's your business too. But you won't be playing Achaea if that turns out to be the case.
It's fine to make an accusation and to be wrong about it (and I would absolutely not wish anyone to feel dissuaded from doing so if they feel something suspect has occurred). I'll reiterate: these things are very easy for us to check, down to exact context and time. If you give us something to go on and there is something there, it'll be found, even if you can only give us a year and a name.
It's very unfortunate that we had to make this post, and given we've only had this problem come up once in the last seven or so years I don't expect it will again anytime soon. That said, if you do have concerns:
- If you have a problem with a member of the admin team, large or small, you can email me at makarios@achaea.com. If it's with me, you can email either Nicola or Ictinus@achaea.com. The accused party won't be involved in any investigation and your name will not be revealed.
- If you don't want to talk to us for whatever reason, you can email jeremy@ironrealms.com. He'll make sure the situation is handled appropriately instead.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
