Achaean News
stuff (I use that title way too much for announce posts)

I'm back from the game developer's conference, and all I can say is
that I have a LOT of ideas on changing some things in Achaea, sometimes
in a rather fundamental manner. I want to discuss them with some of the
players first though, and I'm leaving for a skiing vacation for 5 or 6 days in a few hours (so please try not to message me while I'm gone, unless it is very important).
Briefly though, I intend to do a lot of work on community building here, and I intend to allow you to form your own organizations (clans I suppose you could call them, though they will be better supported than clans are on most games). I want you guys to be able to have private, unmoderated boards for you to post on (ie no admin interference or reprecussions for the posts), as well as some various other measures that will help you maintain the friendships you make here (and keep you playing Achaea of course =).
Further, regarding the new server, our ISP is trying to hold us hostage on the price of the new CPU (trying to charge us the price from 3 months ago, which is ridiculous, as the price is about 60% of that now...unfortunately, the high-end CPUs are quite difficult to get ahold of currently, so it may take a bit of time for me to find one. Everyone is out of stock), but hopefully we should FINALLY have the new server sometime soonish after I'm back from vacation.
Regarding the losing-your-link-spontaneously-and-regularly problem: I am hiring a network engineer to help us figure out what the hell is wrong, as we've been unable to do so so far.
Oh! You all might like this....the design team at Origin (who do Ultima Online, and are working on what I _strongly_ suspect is Star Wars Online currently) is very impressed with the stories and plots that happen here, and I was told by the lead designer on those teams that he thinks Achaea has the best interactive storytelling on the internet. You guys should give yourselves a pat on the back for that, because you are (obviously) the major part of the plots and stories.
Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Scarlatan, in the year 243 AF.
