With the imminent release of the three new tradeskills, there are a number of other miscellaneous changes to trade related and/or crafting skills that everyone should be aware of.
These will go live at the same time as the three new skills released (the upcoming Serenade):
- Animal fat can now be obtained from animals that can be butchered for meat. BUTCHER <animal> has a chance to yield either meat or fat. BUTCHER <animal> FOR MEAT can still be used just to obtain meat if you have no interest in procuring fat!
- Scales can now be butchered from seadragons. BUTCHER SEADRAGON has a chance to yield either meat or scales. BUTCHER SEADRAGON FOR REAGENT only yields scales. BUTCHER SEADRAGON FOR MEAT only yields meat.
- Jewellers are gaining the ability to create PORTRAIT LOCKETS, that combine with portrait inserts created by artists. HELP JEWELLERY and HELP ARTISTRY detail this, and for posterity the relevant syntaxes are below:
PUT INSERT IN LOCKET
This will add the portrait's description to the locket.
This will consume the insert.
This is not reversible.
OPEN LOCKET
This will show your portrait description on PROBE/EXAMINE.
CLOSE LOCKET
This will hide the portrait's description on PROBE/EXAMINE.
- Kegs, casks, and barrels can now be designed by furnishers. These are used for storing beverages in larger quantities.
- The CELLAR upgrade has been added as a housing option. At a cost of 10 room credits, a room can be upgraded to be a cellar, allowing the PLACEment of kegs, casks, and barrels in a house for the aging and storage of beverages.
- The PLASTER upgrade has been added as a housing option. For a cost of 3 room credits, upgrade a room with plaster which will then allow a mural to be PRIMEd in the location ready for painting.
- NOTE: ANY ARTIST CAN PAINT A MURAL ONCE PRIMED SO LONG AS IT IS NOT YET FINISHED. PLEASE NOTE THAT VICTIMS OF BURGLARY MAY FIND UNFINISHED MURALS SUDDENLY BEING REALISED TO COMPLETION.
- INKMILLERS will now gain the ability to create Artistry pigments at Inept rank, and other Artistry materials such as chalk and ink at around Gifted rank via the SUPPLIES ability that has been added.
- Shipaxes and leadlines can no longer be bought directly from Maelstrom, they are instead created by a shipfitter.
- The commissioning of a new ship has been changed to include ship commodities plus the labour costs accrued by the dockyard. The end result costs should work out to be approximately the same as before.
- All references to warmth in Tailoring have been removed.
