We have instituted a new policy, whereby someone who buys credits for the first time, within 21 days of creating his/her character, will automatically get a 40% bonus on credits. The second paragraph of HELP CREDITS explains. The reasons for this are two-fold. 1) It will encourage people to make that first purchase, thus making it more likely that the person will become a more permanent part of Achaea, and 2) making it easier for you to create second characters. IE if you know you want a second character in class X, you could just buy a whole load of credits for him at once, and get a 40% bonus on all of them. If you bought 1000, you'd get 400 free credits.

Newbies will be informed of this upon either graduating from the newbie quest, or, if they choose not to take it, right after character creation, and then reminded now and then, starting a week later, with the reminders becoming more likely as said newbie gets closer to the 21 day limit (they are reminded upon login).
