How in the names of all the planes of Yggdrasil is it the middle of December already?!

Despite all the elemental upheaval, events, and the plummetting explorer rankings, we have a few announcements!

First of all, Logosmas is near! As of this post Makesh has opened up his shop with seasonal wares, and Ironbeard will begin making the rounds, so keep your eyes peeled for visits from him!

Secondly! This weekend is going to see some big events, we can't give exact times unfortunately as so much of it is based on your actions, but you'll definitely want to be around if you can! (Sunday especially!) When we get close enough to be able to pinpoint a time, I'll put reminders up on UPCOMING so you have as much notice as we can give!

And finally! We're updating the contents of the stockings! Going forward talisman pieces will be awarded in caches! These caches can be opened for the ELEMENTAL set (this is the set pieces have been awarded from for the last two weeks) or, opened for the YGGDRASIL set!

Pieces of the Yggdrasil set can also be earned in game, given as rewards for completing some of the tougher quests* found on the planes beyond the World Tree!

* All talisman pieces gained via questing have no tradein value, this is intentional. Talismans completed with pieces gained by quest will be worth less should you desire to trade them in.

For example: a talisman completed with three pieces from a promotion and one from a quest will be worth 75% its normal value, and tradein value will be calculated from that adjusted amount.

In the Yggdrasil talisman set you will find:

A Valdblom flower (valued at 0 cr)
This special talisman is only available via in game quest completion!
PULL FLOWER to gain two stat bonuses (one of these will always be constitution!

A dreadpilar figurine (valued at 50 cr)
A battlefigurine of the mighty Dreadpilar!

A bulky squargon (valued at 100 cr)
The brethren of this monstrous crated mount hide deep within Yggdrasil's trunk, at the time of this post none have yet breached their lair!

A wax tablet of petrified wood (valued at 150 cr)
Designed by the scribes of the Ioje compound, this tablet can be twinned with another to share written information!

SHAKE TABLET and the words written on yours will appear on the twinned tablet!

A tash'la earthshaping tome (valued at 200 cr)
Ownership of this tome gives access to five new forging descriptors!
Iojian, flame-wreathed, liquidinous, mineralised, and cyclonic!

An aureate sighting nexus (valued at 300 cr)
A scouting artefact created by the Vertani!
GAZE into this sighting nexus and see what secrets you can uncover.

A glittering fire crystal (valued at 300 cr)
Possession of this crystal halves the time it takes to EMBRACE the Yggdrasil flame!

A mote of planar flame (valued at 800 cr)
THROW MOTE INTO FLAME to set a flame location upon Yggdrasil where you will resurrect after embracing death.
When this item resets back to your inventory it may be used again to set a different location!

A length of golden snakeskin (valued at 1000 cr)
SHED PURSUERS to stop all hostile, chasing and otherwise wandering denizens in the room for 10 seconds. This has a 10 minute cooldown.

A petrified branch of Yggdrasian wood (valued at 1300 cr)
Harness the geographical knowledge of those dastardly rats and traverse the Yggdrasil with ease!
Completing certain quests in the various areas of Yggdrasil will unlock baits for this makeshift pole and line. (You only need to unlock each area once.)
TIE <area> TO LINE and then FISH FOR RATS!
Provided you have the bait, the rats will whisk you away to your chosen destination!

A crier's bell (valued at 1600 cr)
RING BELL [at] <target> to remove (in order) shield and prismatic barrier!
This has a balance cost of 4.0 seconds for prismatic barrier, 2.5 seconds for shield, and 1.5 seconds if no shield or barrier present.
This can also be used to shatter denizen shields for the same balance cost.
TOLL BELL [at] <target> to begin a 10 second long kill sequence!

Don't forget, stockings can be hung for yourself, or for others, and anonymously! HELP PROMOTIONAL ITEMS has all the commands!

For every five stockings you purchase you'll get a free gold or platinum stocking of that tier! These tallies count over multiple purchases, so if you purchase 5 single stockings over the month, you'll get a special version with your 5th purchase.
