some changes coming soon

Later today, I will be installing Stage 1 of my political and military
system. It won't be complicated initially, but it will be the first
time that game mechanics have supported organizations directly competing,
as an organization, against other organizations. In this case the
competition will come by way of troops battling each other for territory.
Territory will bring money, and cities will begin to shoulder some expenses, such as the cost of archers and telepaths.
Because of this, you are going to want to begin capturing territory as
soon as the system goes in. The Ministry of War will be responsible for
this. To aid you in this endeavour, I have added the ability for
Ministers to name people their aides. The command is AIDE <whomever>.
Pardon me, it's AIDE <whomever> to <ambassador/security/war/steward/etc>.
The same syntax, but with UNAIDE will remove that person as your aide.
A quick overview of what is coming later today is as follows:
Young men (potential recruits) will begin appearing around your city.
How many appear directly relates to your player population. You will be
able to enlist those men, and they will form your army. It will cost
money to enlist each man (has to be equipped and trained).
You will then be able to form divisions of troops, and march them out,
capturing territory, providing it is adjacent to territory you already
have captured.
The Minister of Security will begin to have a couple of (minor) things
to take care of, notably he will be responsible for switching on or off the archers and telepaths. Switching them on will cost 10k, and it will be 5k a day
to maintain them.
The Steward will be able to access the fees that the banks have been accumulating (the 2% withdrawl fee), and move that money into the city coffers. He will also be able to move money from teh coffers into the treasury.
The Treasurer ministry is responsible for doling out money to specific departments, other than itself and the Steward. So, for instance, he will want to send some money to the Ministry of War, and the Ministry of Security, so that troops can be paid for, and so that city defences can be paid for.
This is an overview of what is coming later today. It is, as I said, merely Stage 1 in My plans.
Penned by my hand on the 16th of Phaestian, in the year 226 AF.
