Force Boarding!

Force boarding is now possible!
Force boarding requires several things:
1) a ship on which you have crew privileges
2) an Arcanian Arm ship weapon (HELP SHIP WEAPONS)
3) a shipaxe (or ship's axe) (HELP SHIP EQ)
4) another ship within reasonable range
Once you have all these things, you can proceed.
First, create a boarding deck with your ship's axe, if you have the
'forceboard' ability. During this introductory period, before Seafaring
is complete, any person with crew privileges on a ship will be allowed
to act as though he had forceboard.
CHOP SECTION OF DECK
This hurts your ship more than it hurts you (literally). After a time
you will be in possession of a boarding deck, which is a living portion
of your ship. Only one boarding deck may be in existence at any time,
for any given ship.
Second, load the thrower with the deck:
LOAD THROWER WITH DECK.
Third, time to fire at some enemy ship in range (3-4 spaces maximum, and
closer is easier to hit. Unmoving doesn't hurt either):
FIRE THOWER AT enemyshipnameortargetname
(set up target abbreviations using the SHIP TARGET system)
Fourth, assuming the enemy ship is in range, and your boarding deck hit,
it's time to board:
FORCEBOARD GO
This will continue to work as long as the boarding deck is alive. It has
a reasonably short life time before it gets to missing its old buddy
planks from the quarterdeck, so eventually it'll discorporate by itself.
Or if others attack it, it may eventually die. Attacks with a ship's axe
are extremely effective against boarding decks. Other weapons are not so
effective.
Fifth, time to return to the ship from whence you came as a black
scourge on your enemies:
FORCEBOARD RETURN
This will usually work. If it doesn't, you're stuck! Hope you've got
shipreturn, or a Token of Charybdis. You DO ALWAYS carry a token with
you, don't you? Of course. Good lads and lassies.
While you are on the enemy ship, you have about the same rights as any
city raider, which means essentially none. Those on the boarded ship
have the right to attack you freely, and you may defend yourself. Wait
for Lathis to post more details and clarifications, if needed. For now,
think of it as an attack on a city or house estate.
