We've put in a new server to speed things up and it's WORKING!
Two days ago, rudely ignoring my perfectly good suggestion to
shut down Imperian, Iron Realms installed a new server to move
things around in order to help us all go faster.
In the end, it's your experience that counts the most, but our
internal measuring so far has been very encouraging.
Based on a check of the period since the beginning of September,
Achaea has experienced lag spikes of 103.34, 85.90, 36.37, 28.96
and 25.90 seconds (to name the top five) with average days having
generally a handful of lag spikes hitting ten seconds.
The highest lag seen so far has been 5.08 seconds, with a
total of only eight lag spikes over 2 seconds in length. This is
a HUGE improvement! These lags are measured over 10 second
periods, by the way, so that would mean that there have only
eight total times in the last day where any 10-second period
was slowed by as much as 20%.
Overall/total lag experienced on a daily basis was averaging
about 529 seconds daily, and is now down to about 306, which
is a reduction of over 40%!
Anyhow, we hope you enjoy the new speed. We're sure glad to
get those other guys out of the way, even if they weren't
just deleted. But really, we wish them the best. No, really!
Penned by my hand on the 25th of Sarapin, in the year 464 AF.
