You CAN give artefacts as gifts (within limits).

If you want to buy an artefact with your own credits and have
that artefact belong to someone else, and reset to that person,
and so forth, you can do that.

The limitation is that you may ONLY purchase gift artefacts
with UNBOUND credits. So do NOT bind your credits if you want
to use them to buy a gift artefact.

This is noted in several places in our HELP scrolls, such
as HELP ARTEFACTS and HELP ARTEFACT GIFTS and HELP
ARTEFACT TRANSFERS.
