Some of you might be familiar with the web comic called Penny Arcade
(www.penny-arcade.com). One of the most popular web comics around, and
aimed generally at gamers. Tycho and Gabe, the two guys that are Penny
Arcade, started a charity last year called Child's Play (www.childsplaycharity.org) that sends toys
and money for toys to children's hospitals around the country. Their
secondary goal is to give the media more reasons to talk about gamers in
a positive light, to help counterbalance the way some people view gamers
generally.

I think what they're doing is great both for the help it gives sick
children and for the positive light it casts on gamers. So, Achaea (and
indeed, all Iron Realms games) is pledging 5% of its credit sales
between now and December 25th to Child's Play.

If getting to help some kids along with your regular helping of credits
isn't enough incentive, we're also going to do a 20% bonus on all
credits purchased between now and Christmas. Note that this doesn't
affect how many newbie bonus lessons newbies get, nor does it affect
mentor/guild/city credits. Also, please do not ask to have the bonus
retroactively extended to you. The bonus starts when the bonus starts,
which is now.

In summary: 5% of our revenue between now and Christmas to Child's Play,
and 20% bonus credits for all purchasers between now and Christmas!
