Today we announce the end of an era that ended a while ago anyway -
HELP NOTABLES is no more.

This step was taken after years of consideration and, regrettably,
substantial inactivity. It's not that there are no more notables in
Achaea - quite the opposite! There are so many notables that we are
literally awash in candidates for HELP NOTABLES.

The amount of effort needful to keep up HELP NOTABLES was huge, and
the difficulty in determining precisely who to include and who not
was beyond the pale for even the heartiest editor.

No matter who was added, it wouldn't have been enough, or it would
have been too many, or some three dozen folk would be petitioning
for a change.

So today we have removed the long out of date HELP NOTABLES scroll.
We do not anticipating replacing it. The memories of the greatest
Achaeans still live within the hearts and minds of those living.

To the greatest heroes of all Achaean history: we salute you all!
