Bardic contests

Well guys, I know this is going to really disappoint some of you but
sometimes I have to be the bad guy and make tough decisions. The Bardic
contests are a huge amount of effort due to the volume of reading
required and our weblogs have long shown that few people ever read them.
We also just had a short referendum and the results overwhelmingly
confirmed the fact that few people read them regularly.

So, I'm (a little sad I have to admit) to announce that we're going to
be cancelling the Bardic competitions as of the end of April. We still
have to announce February and March (there are a couple details holding
those up), but April will be the last month for the Bardic competitions.

I don't at all mean to imply that I think graphic arts are superior to
written arts with this decision. It just comes down to reward vs. effort
and given that so few people really read them and the amount of time it
takes to judge them....

Anyway, I apologize to all the writers out there who enjoyed submitting,
as well as those who enjoyed reading the winners.

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Lupar, in the year 360 AF.
