HTML and OOC

HTML is OOC - don't use it!
Some have recently discovered that if they embed HTML in things
like shouts, titles, warcries, tells, etc, then SOME people who
see the shout/title/whatever will see the results of the HTML.
"Oh boy, what fun!" they say to themselves. "We can bold and
italicise and underline messages to our pals. Won't that make a
great shout?"
No. It won't. Don't do it.
HTML only works for some of our players, mostly the ones using
zMud. And for the players using zMud, they don't WANT to have your
messages to them in bold blinking underline italics. They just want
to see it normal, like everything else, and possibly with colours.
HTML is OOC. Don't use it in says, tells, shouts, yells, newbie,
market, guild, order, city, clan, messages, or any other in-game
mode of communication.
Exception: if you and a friend agree ahead of time, or if a clan
so allows, then go for it. Outside of that, it's OOC and we'll find
interesting ways to help you figure out how much you don't want to
do that any more!
Penned by my hand on the 8th of Chronos, in the year 355 AF.
