It is a pleasure to announce that the following works have been selected
for awards of distinction from among the many wonderful entries we
receive each month.
Bardic First Place:
"Bearclaw, by Nubi," is a vivid short story about a Tsol'aa and his
bittersweet homecoming.
Bardic Runners Up:
"What is Balance?" by Rhakshai, is a scholarly treatise on the nature of
balance and its part in the realm.
"Essay of War," by Lyric, tells of the ancient battle of the Gods from
the unique perspective of a gruff mercenary of Arn.
"Into the Shadows - Part II," by Flick, is the conclusion of the story
of two thugs who crossed a Goddess, and must now seek redemption.
Bardic Merit:
"Achaea," by Teclis, is a simply-titled humorous poem of the land's
wondrous variety.
"Never Insult a Dwarf," by Meredith, is an entertaining song with a
good-sense principle.
"A Romance," by Latha, is told in an unusual style, with an interesting
Achaean twist.
"The Journey," by Grandue, is a narrative that recounts the author's
early travels with enjoyable detail.
"Desert Ramblings," by Reanis, is an entertaining children's poem of
caution.
-------------
Artisanal First Place:
"Ruhn, Audeo, and the Manticores," by Audeo, is a rich depiction of a
battle with the fabled beasts.
Artisanal Runners Up:
"Glimpse of the Sorcerers," by Merik, is a lovely portrait of herself
and her guildmates.
"The Female Dawnstrider," by Style, is a colorful illustration of the
title character.
Artisanal Merit:
"Dryad," by Alandra, captures the playful beauty of this forest dweller.
"Dun Fortress," by Emty, depicts Bragor battling the orcs of this
region.
"Chivalry," by Fulmin, is a cute representation of a noble Paladin.
"Hey Fiddle-Fiddle, the Suicide Mouse," by Segami, is a hilarious...
Well, you just have to see it! (no rodents were harmed in the making of
this entry)
"Mistress of Darkness (Betrayal)," by Serentus, is an illustration of a
menacing dueling opponent.
"Self Portrait," by Meihua, is a sweet depiction of the artist in
Achaean garb.
"Hakhim," by Ilan, is an amusing portrait of the infamous Shallamese
rat-buyer.
"Self Portrait," by Kyra, is a portrait of the atavian artist in thought
after first trying on her new vine-and-leaves dress.
Penned by my hand on the 1st of Daedalan, in the year 306 AF.
