If you, or anyone else, wishes to rule Thera and claim to be it's government, you must prove that you have either been elected by its citizenry or have taken it by force. Having spoken with the true government of Thera, I know that neither is the case. The city state of Thera is alive and well, and it does not include you or your clan. Any actions you take on behalf of the citizery of Thera are clearly not on their authority.

Will your next announcement be that you rule the Sentinels? Perhaps Shallam? Or maybe you are the Patron of the Disorder of Eris. The possibilities are endless, with an imagination such as yours.
