You know that feeling when you are reading a post and you think..."What? I'm gonna reply to this!!" and then you notice that like, 100 other posts have already been said about it? Then you know what I am up against here. i don't want to carry on stale arguments, but it looks like I might..so I expect no reply to thius poist, I just wish to make my position clear.
Firstly, Galdrion. I wish not to defend myself, for clearly you are beyond anything appraoching mercy. All I will say is that I am surprised at your bitterness and annoyance with Cynne and I for stating our feelings. When was the last time you went to replant a grove or fortify the land when it was exterminated? This may be unfair of me, but at this time I don't really care.
When I hear of a problem, I go straight to deal with it as best I can. I may not be in a guild, but I care about the forest very much and I think my actions always prove that. I didn't realise that Dalamar was such a major problem. I've been away from the lands and I didn't beleive one man capable of causing such a guild-wide problem. I have been asked, kindly and politeley if I will not trade with Dalamar, and this I will accept until further notice, but only because I was treated fairly and tactfully as an individual...not some automoton puppet of someone elses making
I see myself as an individual, with an individual will. I Chose to leave my guild because I felt that they were beginning to crush that individuality, as well as because of certain problems within myself. When I left that guild, I was absolved of the responsibility of doing as they say, but because I have good friends there, I am always willing to help if they need me. However it is my choice.
And as for Kevin...
Well, you are young in years my dear and have obviously not learned to respect those who outrank you in years, experience and knowledge. If you have such a big problem with Dalamar...please, go and kill him. However as this is impossible, I suggest you leave it up to those who are able to do so, to deal with the situation as they see fit. I reccommmend not mouthing off your petty, uninformed concerns to those who care not about what you say. you would have been better off keeping this matter within the guild channels so that you could have been properly informed.
And, lastly...
Sapience is not a neverending bounty of trees and flowers, there for the taking by anyone who so wishes. Only those who study and train in the arts of groves and concoctions are able to benefit from this bounty. Also, there is not an infinite wealth of resources. Weed, foir example, was exterminated and struck from the land through abuse of it's resources. Bloodroot could easily go the same way if one or two idiots get let loose on it.
If you want to keep buying herbs and elixirs, you have to have a bit of respect for where you get it from. this is what the price fixing is about. It is about gaining respect for the resources and those who can deliver them to you. No one asks adulation as they walk through the streets, but a little tact an common courtesy would be extremeley useful.
It is also about making sure that everyone benefits fairly from the sale of herbs and elixirs, so that no one is undercut to such an extent that they are left with nothing, and so that what we have is not sold off within the first five minutes, leaving nothing for the end of the year, pushing prices up to astronomical proportions, in the way the weed went!
'price fixing is fine, as far as I am concerned, as long as I am still able to function as an individual Mhun, and not be forced to comply against my will.
So, there we have it...hot off the press, armelia's news.
Stick THAT in your pipes and smoke it
