An apology

Greetings, Achaeans.
I write to apologize for my insolence towards Cronono,
insulting him and needling him where it was obviously not my place.
I will tell you of the acts leading up to the death of my falcon, Teddy,
in hope that you all may learn something from my folly.
First I would warn you that this may be long, and secondly
I would apologize for my lack of skill with words, I have spent little time writing in my life.

Since Cronono was made Celani so that he could record History,
I have seen him 'accept' many requests for a sparring partner
that my fellow mortals may have shouted out. Now,
I have always taken offense at this, feeling as if he was mocking us, entertaining himself with our weakness. I have also always felt that this was not his place, as I can remember when he was mortal himself, and a far weaker one than me and many others. I saw it as abusing the power he was given so he could write the histories. I will not tell you these feelings are 'right', for it is obviously not my place to question the actions of a Celani, but I felt them anyway, and I feel they must be written here so that you may know why I did what I did.

At one point, Cronono appeared at North of Thera, coming to meet his 'sparring partner' as I remember it.
We talked for a bit, and though I do not remember what led up to it, he told me to 'take my best shot' and attack him as best I could. Well, I am not one to back down from a challenge, so I attempted just that. As all my attacks failed to even reach him, I thought to send Teddy in hopes that he would have more luck. Indeed, he did, managing to rake Cronono with his talons.
Since then, I have always boasted ridiculously of how Teddy 'beat him down', never seriously and always in simple jest. However, today, I crossed the thin line between what can be taken as a joke and what can not with a shout, and dear Teddy has paid the price for my folly with his life.

I spoke with Lord Deucalion for some time of Justice, ending in a request that He bring back Teddy and take my life instead. He thought it more Just that I do away with my pride and write this apology for all to see, and so in my readiness to find Justice I do just that.

I apologize to you, Cronono, and to all the Others that dwell in the Garden. It was never my place to act with such insolence towards a Celani, and it never will be.
I will not be foolish enough to do it again.

I also humbly request that You grant Teddy the gift of life once again,
for he truly never commited any crime, simply obeying my order to attack without question, something I have trained him to do.
He was a fine warrior and companion, and losing him saddens me greatly.

Thank you for your time.

A mere mortal, Khejian.
