I need no authority to say anything that was in my post. I offer my opinions on how the _existing_ treaty might be better applied, since posts by Dekkar do not seem to be considered adequate proof of defilement. I offer my knowledge of the land, for which I also need no authority, and suggest that 'south of the southern tip of Thera' is vague, and should be clarified by those parties involved. Take it or leave it.
I have said nothing as to whether I feel you deserve to have been enemied... in fact, I state here that I am quite ignorant of the reasons - certainly, there was no penalty assigned to the use of any shrine powers, and I commend your successfull efforts against any who would treat Shallam as an enemy. You are perhaps a victim of a flawed treaty, and I am offering suggestions to improve the situation. Again, feel free to ignore me.
As for my reasons in leaving Shallam, perhaps my post to the city did not explain sufficiently. I did not leave to avoid politics, I left to avoid a war in which I had no part. At first, I died, I killed. Nothing changed. The hatred that brought about those fights was not mine, I soon learned. It was a hatred born of thousands upon thousands of slaughtered animals, blood of devotion, and blood of defilement. The reason for the war did not concern me, and so I fought simply for the protection of the city. I believe Maran will remember a day when I fought along side him, against many of my friends, and Mical might tell you similar stories. That didn't last long. Neither side is wrong in this war, they are just angry, very angry. I would gladly have continued to defend Shallam, but I could not bring myself to fight my friends - though other friends died, they died in a war that _was_ theirs. If you recall, an entire guild left Shallam over those events.
Hmm, this article was meant to be in response to 3707, but you have posted again while I was writing. It seems I have touched a nerve, which was not my intent, and so I will end it here. Thank you for reminding my why I so rarely make public posts 🙂
