Yes, I am aware that many are sick of reading posts regarding the current treaty, and to those I recommend that you read no further
I believe that the treaty is failing for one simple reason - there are too many who do not wish peace, and so they will find a reason to fight, defile, etc. Yes, the treaty has problems, as we have seen so many times in these posts, and so I offer a few methods of straightening things out.
First off, the 'room' is not a standard unit of measurement, as any good cartographer will tell you. If this were so, then the southernmost tip of There would stretch almost to the Pachanacha in the west and as far along the Prelatorian as the Siroccian mountains. If, however, you measure from Thera through the Black Forest, the entire forest and the Dusty Plains are south of Thera. The reason for this is quite simply that a room on the road or highway is not the same in size as a room within the interior of the wilderness.
Therefore, I suggest that someone, perhaps Shallam since it's citizens know the location of the shrines the best, were to make a list of the shrines which they believe to be 'south of Thera', and to list them for all to see, as well as the last person known to defile such shrines. Should the parties who signed the treaty agree that all the shrines listed are to be protected by the treaty, then you simply need to make a warning against defilers when shrinequery indicates a new name for one of these shrines.
To Shallam: I am curious that you have elected a new Sultan just in time to reverse Mical's enemying of Dalamar. I doubt that Mical took that action lightly, and though I do not know the full situation, I am sure that he believed that it was necessary to uphold a treaty which Shallam signed. Do you wish to break the treaty, do you disagree with Mical's assesment of matters, or was the timing of this election just coincidence? I mean no offence, and certainly Maran is an excellent choice for Sultan, I am just curious as to the motivations that brought about such a political change.
Just my musings on the matter, feel free to disregard them if you please.
