Hail, Sapience.
When last I wrote to these boards, the year was 828AF, and the Asterian Restoration had just concluded its 150th anniversary celebrations with the first Asterian Festival of History.
Nearly 150 years later, I come to you once more with news of the second Asterian Festival of History, in honour of the Restoration's 300th year of existence in 977AF.
The third Asterian Convention: Chivalry in the Modern Age
----------------------------------------------------------
As a prelude to the Festival, we will be hosting a Restoration signature event in late 976 AF: the Asterian Convention.
Now in its third edition, the Asterian Convention will focus on the modern incarnation of Knighthood, itself a longstanding tradition that has existed since before the days of Seleucar.
What does it mean to be a Knight in this day and age? That is the question the Convention aims to answer.
For the first time ever, we welcome the Guild of Knights as co-collaborators on this Convention. Spanning a handful of months, representatives from each of the Knightly Orders will deliver introductions on their Order and be available for further discussions within their pavilions. There will also be other programs, such as the Asteri Joust and a three-versus-three tournament, to look forward to for the occasion.
A full agenda will be posted in the coming years to these boards.
The second Asterian Festival of History: Achaea through the Ages
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The first Asterian Festival of History ran for a full year, with events themed after the Gods for Whom our months are named. Come Ero 977AF until late 978AF, we will be expanding that remit, following the timeworn path laid out for us by foundational historical texts such as the Mythos, Seleucar and the Black Wave, the Saga of the Worldreaver and more.
For the purposes of the Festival, we shall deem each significant milestone of Achaean history an Age. Each Age will run for two months and, like the first Festival, feature various themed events and programs in conjunction with the themes. As a preview, here are the first three Ages:
[ The Age of Proteus ]
Centreing around the very beginning of the world as we know it, with the Mythos as the focal point.
[ The Age of Mortal Races ]
Self-evident, these months will focus on mortalhood, the dawn of Humanity, and so on.
[ The Age of Seleucar ]
The circumstances surrounding and leading up to the formation of Achaeas first great Empire, as well as the events of the Black Wave.
A full agenda will be posted in the coming years to these boards.
As is tradition, we have already sent missives to various organisations to join us in bringing this Festival to life, for we are all part of the same historical tapestry. It is the different weaves and threads that form the complete and intriguing picture, so we wish to include as many perspectives as possible.
However, this year, we aim to encourage as many individuals as possible to join us in restoring history to the forefront of mortal minds for this Festival. Thus, the subsequent post will contain details for those interested in contributing to this effort.
All questions may be directed to myself. If this is your first time hearing of the Asterian Restoration, you will find us at CLHELP AR or on the Asterian Peninsula in Meropis. We welcome your interest.
