The Seleucarian Games: Opening Ceremony

For eight hundred years, the Seleucarian Empire stood in a Golden Age, and now, for eight hundred years, it has been fallen. And so this year, we celebrate the anniversary of Seleucar. Taking our traditions into our own hands for the first time in history, the Seleucarian Games will celebrate the history of this land, properly carry on the traditions that we have all looked forward to every fifty years, that now we are in danger of losing to Seleucar's ancient foe.
And so, I'm happy to announce that the opening ceremony of the Seleucarian Games will be held on the 19th of Sarapin, 802 AF, at the grounds of the Asterian Restoration. This is a day after the upcoming Serenade!
The opening ceremony will kick off approximately a year of games and other events to celebrate the lasting legacy of the Seleucarian Empire on these lands, with chances for people of all different skills to compete for fame and prizes. For any who wish for a chance to compete in a true celebration of Seleucar's anniversary, or just want a games free from the taint of the Tsol'teth, I hope that you will both take part, and help us start this off properly.
This ceremony will be held at the grounds of the Asterian Restoration, on Meropis. We will be providing transport to and from the site as best as we can, for any who can't easily get there. For anyone not familiar, the Asterian Restoration is an organisation dedicated to the free exchange of ideas on Meropis, founded on what used to be the duchy of Aster Malik just north of the city of Seleucar. It's an honour to be able to use this space, and it's my hope that these Games will live up to what's been hosted there in years past. CLHELP AR will tell anyone curious more about it!
It should go without saying that holding events like these will at times be difficult. There has never been an invading power has threatened our traditions, and no time where we have had to rise up to carry on those traditions ourselves. And so, it's going to take a lot of work to make this happen. Event planners, designers, people to advertise, anyone who wants to help make this happen should let me know, to get added to our volunteer clan!
Starting next month, we will give this anniversary and this legacy a proper celebration, and make history in the process. I hope to see you all there.
