Sapience,
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Cyrene has undergone a brutal attack that shook us from our home. It is also no surprise that this churlish attempt to unseat the rightful citizens of Cyrene could not be allowed to stand; we are home once more.
Second to this attack, Cyrene was betrayed by its fellow Sapients. Those of Hashan and Targossas sided with those that cast us out, knowing full well what they were capable of and what they had done. Those of Mhaldor sought at the last moment to rip this victory from our hands, like the foppish thugs that they are. Cyrene would be well within its rights to do all sorts of chest puffery in response, but instead we simply wish to be left alone and allowed time to grieve and rebuild.
Those of Hashan, Mhaldor and Targossas are no longer welcome in Cyrene until future notice.
We don't want to see you walking through our streets while we're still burying our dead. We don't want you enjoying drinks and snacks while we're still rebuilding our city. We don't want your patronage at our shops, your attendance at our events. We just don't want your kind here.
This is not some sort of punitive thing. We don't want your stuff, either. Those of Hashan and Targossas who own shops, we wish to make arrangements with you. Our Chancellor will be contacting you with alternatives and options, but your shop will not be seized at this time, at worst it will be closed for the time being and you will be able to clear the inventory while under escort by the Chancellery. Those who own homes in Cyrene, you may be escorted in to get it moved if you so wish. Both of these may be accomplished without occurring a warning or enemy status, if done through the proper channels.
All the citizens of those three cities, not in Cyrene by permission, will receive a single warning to leave. Any further entries or refusal to leave, will result in an easily solvable enemy status. Those of you who come to understand the error of your ways will be quickly forgiven. Just let us know that you have cast behind those sycophants and rejoined the rest of your fellow Sapients in standing up for our homes. Assuming that you have not further transgressed upon us, you will be welcome once more.
To those already enemied and those who will be enemied for your crimes during this time, you may post a public apology that will be voted on by the citizens of Cyrene as well as a significant gesture to show us that you truly feel remorse for what you have done. If you are not truly contrite, please go elsewhere as your hollow platitudes are as unwelcome as you are.
In the coming months, the city will meet to decide if we will take our grief and use that to hone our army against the whetstone of those who declare themselves our enemies.
Cyrene still knows what it stands for. Can you say the same?
