Grand High Poobah, King of Birds, Most Magnificent Turk Turk
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, the turkey, that bird is a right noble beast,
with magnificent tail and red waddle.
It's a glorious thing; among fowl, it's not least,
and it struts like a long-legged model.
It's a powerful bird, and it has a long comb,
and a breath-taking, gobbling shout.
And should you invite one inside of your home,
it will brighten your day without doubt.
You must notice by now this fair bird has no equal,
no avian can e'er contend.
Not a peacock nor robin nor fancy bald eagle,
and especially not some dull hen.
Oh, the turkey, that bird is a right noble beast,
and its virtues abound, can't you see?
So if you should consider to make it a feast,
I hope you'll instead set it free.
